Wasteland 25:19
pale as a ghost a scrim of skin and bone inchoate and infantile the firstborn to behold the ending of it all days dim and drained of color everything is dying everything is waste where I once saw stars beheld the constellations now sits a black hole empty and soulless in the dark of night everything's undone my mind rent and torn and cast into the void

about

The light had failed. Where I once saw stars and wondered at constellations and galaxies beyond knowing there was only darkness swallowing everything. A black hole, Supermassive and oppressive. Empty and soulless. It left me groping blind, floundering and lost in vast wastes desolate and dread. Caught in the deathgrip of a claustrophobic dark. At the mercy of an indifferent earth. The days dim and drained of color. Everything slowly dying and decaying. The trees empty and silent and alone. No birdsong left to fill the air. The fields lying fallow. The marshlands stagnant, rotting and barren. All of it slipping out of existence.

Pale as a ghost. A thin scrim of skin and bones. Inchoate and infantile in this new era of death. The firstborn to witness and behold the end of it all. Damned and lost. Frail frame sagging like the boughs of the tired trees. Sojourner. Nomad of the earth. Cain in the latter days, traversing the forgotten world throughout the glacial drift of time.

In the black dawn, everything became undone. Unraveled like a thread. A cascading, silent avalanche. My mind rent and torn without a sound. Unmoored, untethered. Drifting out into the world of dreams. Labyrinthine dreams. Dreams within dreams within dreams. Memory and dream colliding, melding in the void.
